Ankit Basak and Helena Hu, CMIT’s 2025–2026 Neil and Anna Rasmussen Fellows, are developing powerful new tools that could transform how we explore the microbiome.

Alyssa Haynes Mitchell and Daniel Pascal, the Center’s inaugural Neil and Anna Rasmussen Fellowship recipients, discuss their research, interest in the microbiome, and key challenges in the field.

Jason (Yanjia) Zhang, MD, PhD was one of six recipients selected for the American Gastroenterological Society’s 2024 Research Scholar Awards for early career investigators. 

The 2024 symposium featured keynote presentations from Dr. Emrah Altindis (Boston College) and Dr. Sophie McCoy (University of North Carolina), as well as flash talk presentations by trainees and a scientific poster session.
